The microscope is in perfect conditions, as you told me, really: the body is perfect, the lenses too; all pieces are perfect. The package was excellent, the shipping service was excellent; you enclosed a really nice transformer from 110V to our 220V.
Here in Italy no one pays the sum before the material is arrived, to avoid...the problems you now; but I wanted to trust you (remember!) a payed as you wanted large before to receive, and without to see other fotos of the microscope.
In conclusion: I'm satisfied of the microscope and of your service: that means I'm satisfied of You!

I have to say, and I hope you share this with the higher ups (if there are any higher ups) that this was excellent service. I have another question for you. I need a balance for weighing rodents (~300g). Obviously it needs to be accurate, but only to the 1 or 0.1g. I was thinking that a 2000g balance would be a versatile fit for the lab. What can you offer from Spectra?

Thanks for the head's up for the lead time on the larger items. I'm leaning away from ordering the cooled incubator at this time, but will definitely be purchasing the LIFLY incubator- and I'll be sure to factor in the 2 week lead time.
I'll be in touch with Mike directly regarding the microscopes. I'll also hold off on these for now, until I can be in the lab and check them out upon arrival.
Thanks again! You should pride yourself- you're customer care is FAR better than Fisher or VWR. I'm putting faith on the 'quality' factor, since most of the items I'm ordering are new manufacturers to me....

Basically what separates companies apart is their level of service and yours has been excellent.
Do you have a general overview of the microscope and lab equipment services that you provide? We have new faculty coming and I don't know what their specific equipment needs might be.

Hi:
Last week I managed to install the dual port adaptor on our microscope and it is just great! It took a while to figure out how to configure it in the Axiovision software as the orientation of the cameras has to be vertical and also be image rotated differently for each camera in the software. The field of view and image scaling is identical to what we had. We have been manually changing cameras for the past 5 years and I am kicking myself for not getting this way earlier. We were kind of thrown off course by our local Zeiss representatives who always mentioned this as costing $4k which seemed prohibitive. It is rare to get a new piece of equipment that results in less work for me so this device is really appreciated.

Thank you for the detailed voice mail you left on Friday (8 April) afternoon. I am pleased that the Branson staff that you regularly deal with, has agreed to replace the micro tip free of charge. It was a logical decision which should also have been made by the other person you previously contacted at Branson. Please inform us as soon as you know when the replacement is being shipped, and the tracking number. This would facilitate planning our experiment requiring the use of the sonicator.
Thank you for your perseverance in pursuing this matter with Branson, to arrive at a satisfactory resolution. We highly appreciate your assistance. This is a great example of what customer service should be!

Thank you sir for sending the information as well as the input on the camera. We currently have only a bright field scope (non-inverted) we are using so were not tuned in to the image capture challenges associated with fluorescence. I was interested in getting a quote from you not only because your pricing was competitive, but because your company seems to have a strong working knowledge of scopes and the supporting equipment as well as the capability of servicing should there be a need. Most used laboratory equipment vendors wave goodbye when the equipment is out the door or after 30-60 days warranty and I was impressed with the 1-year guarantee. I also appreciate I can call you with further questions and you will help walk me through our specific need.
Do you have field associates you work with or recommend who would be able to support our scope or train in use and software if needed?

Hi Mike,
We received the MI 150 on Friday and I got it set up today.
I just wanted to say that everything you described about the unit is true! The lights are very bright (a plus), the light guide fits VERY snuggly in the slot (MAJOR plus) and the unit is very quiet ( extra plus). So, I am very pleased with the unit and I appreciate all your help and answers to my questions. If we decide to buy more units, I’ll be in touch.

I bought a pH meter from Spectra Services and have received the best customer service ever. I mentioned to Corey that it was complicated to use if you have never used one before. As you can see from his email, he went directly to the manufacturer to arrange for someone to help me out.
He mentioned in a previous email that since I was a teacher I could let the science departments know that they sell microscopes, cameras etc. I not sure if you work with the science departments or not, but if not can you pass his information on to whom ever does. I think it would be worth while for whom ever purchases science equipment to check this company out.

I am delighted to say that the microscope arrived and I am very happy with it. It is in excellent condition. Buying used equipment is always a crap shoot. I think this is the first time I have every bought a piece of used equipment that I didn’t have to buy any parts to make it work. Thanks for the extra bulbs too.

Finally had a chance to assemble the Motic polarized scope this weekend - wow. Right out of the box it was easily centered. I put on a piece of muscovite and obtained a super nice interference figure. Reviewing slides for this week's lab was a pleasure.

Got it- works now! I did install that software but I suppose I needed to do it again. I also did not install the qcam drivers- I wondered if I needed to do that. Unfortunately I can't cool the camera with this fire wire board- too much power. But I can get by easily for fluorescence (not low light) without cooling.
thanks Mike, it always helps to speak with a human! Even though I don't buy much I have to tell you that being able to speak to you and to get reliable help when I need it makes me buy from Spectra Services compared to other vendors.
