The OptiScan system is now available utilizing the latest innovation in microscope automation - the Prior PCI High Speed Stepper Motor Controller. The Prior PCI is capable of controlling your motorized stage, focus motor, filter wheels and shutters, all from within your PC. The PCI card is installed directly into standard full size PCI slot, eliminating the need for a controller box and saving valuable workspace.

OptiScan Advanced Controller
Compatible with many leading image analysis applications, it provides a comprehensive, high-level software command set which is accessed via a serial port at baud rates of up to 38400. ‘Plug & play’ facility ensures automatic configuration making the system very simple to use. Uniquely, one OptiScan™ controller can be used to drive a motorized stage, a focus motor, up to 2 filter wheels and 3 shutters.

Upright Stage

OptiScan model ES110 stages are ideally suited to routine imaging applications. Using anti-backlash precision lead screws and accurate stepper motors, OptiScan™ combines reliability with the highest performance in its class. Limit switches are provided as standard and the stage will fit most upright microscopes. The upright microscope stage includes a slide holder for a glass slide.

Inverted Stage

The inverted microscope stage model ES107 can be used for glass slides, microtitre (96 well) plates, petri dishes and mounted metallurgical specimens. The inverted stages use the same precision components as the OptiScan upright stages and are available for most modern inverted microscopes.

OptiScan Specimen Holders

OptiScan specimen holders are available for a variety of applications involving samples such as slides, microtitre (96 well) plates, petri dishes and metallurgical samples. Specimen holders are black anodized to provide excellent wear resistance. Custom designs are always considered.

Z Scale Probe

Prior's probe style encoder feedback system provides the highest accuracy (0.2 microns) available for your motorized focus system. Resolution for the Z scale probe is 0.05 microns. Available for both the OptiScan and ProScan, the Z scale probe system includes encoder feedback electronics for the controller, an encoder probe with controller interface cable and a universal mounting bracket kit.

Filter Wheels

The Filter Wheel system delivers smooth, high speed operation and changes filters in as little as 120ms. The system accepts ten 25mm or eight 32mm diameter filters. The filter wheel can be fitted to the excitation and emission ports of your microscope and up to 2 filter wheels and 3 shutters can be operated from 1 controller via a serial port or an optional filter wheel keypad. Optional sliding filter holder available.

High Speed Shutters

Up to 3 shutters (HF200) can be mounted directly to a microscope illuminator, a camera port or used in conjunction with a filter wheel. Control is via a serial port or the optional filter wheel keypad.

Touch Screen Programmable Keypad

The Programmable Keypad features an intuitive software package which provides complete programmability and control of the whole ProScan system. Menus allow for programming of raster, snake and user-defined patterns. Information on the current stage position is always available and points of interest can be saved for later review.
